My name is Gabe Hendry. That's me there. Why a picture with a crazy burger and fries you might ask? Well, I believe that life is made up of good experiences and bad. For me, that picture reminds me of a recent great experience (Qualifying for the Boston Marathon in Marquette, MI). How we remember the experiences we have effects how we feel, think and act. Because I ran well in Marquette, had a lovely visit in a new place, and met a goal I had been working toward for a long time this picture elicits very positive reactions.
When it comes to work, I attempt to influence the experiences my client's deliver to their users to accomplish something similar. Did they accomplish the task they came to do? Was is simple and straight-forward? Were the pleasantly surprised by anything? Very seldom do good experiences happen without a lot of planning and flawless execution by the many people involved. The Marquette experience was good because the race was well planned, the town was friendly and well prepared for tourists, and I was given great advice on how best to prepare to achieve the desired outcome.
